Family fun at the Tower: Saturday 6th November

Remember, remember the 5th of November                                                  Gunpowder, treason and plot….

On 5th November, 1605, a plot to blow up the Houses of Parliament was foiled at the last moment. King James I and Parliament were spared - Guy Fawkes and his fellow plotters were not. Many of the plotters, including Guy Fawkes, found themselves imprisoned at the Tower on charges of treason. The failure of the Gunpowder plot is commemorated each year during Bonfire night, a night of celebration that originally celebrated the King’s escape.

At the next family day, our activities will reflect the theme of “treason,” with a particular focus on the story of Guy Fawkes, his imprisonment and torture. You will also be able to test your knowledge on the events of, and leading up to, the foiled plot.

Come and take part in a range of activities in the White Tower, from badge and portrait making to art and craft activities. All activities are included in the price of admission and run from 11.00 to 15.00.
